SHIELD IIIA is not a universal panel. It is cut to the CARGO: a full-coverage panel that shields the entire backside of the pack, riding in its own dedicated compartment. Install it once and it stays. Flexible enough to disappear into the bag, light enough to carry every day.

Our armor is tested to NIJ standards, and we publish exactly how each level is tested. You do not have to take our word for it. The Test It Yourself program pays you to check our work: put a plate on the line yourself, and if it fails you get a full refund. If it passes on video, $500 store credit.

SHIELD IIIA is the base layer. When you want rifle-rated protection, add a hard plate to the CARGO's height-adjustable plate pocket. Choose the level that matches where you carry.

SHIELD III+ Hard Plate
Rifle protection at 3.5 lbs. Tested against 5.56 M855 green tip, M193, and 7.62x39. The right choice for most carry.
