SHIELD
SHIELD is the armor system built for the CARGO. Start with the SHIELD IIIA soft armor panel as your base. Add a SHIELD III+ or IV hard plate when you want rifle-rated protection.
Two Layers.
One System.
SHIELD is a two-layer system. Layer one is the SHIELD IIIA soft armor panel, a full-coverage back panel that fits into a dedicated compartment in the CARGO. Layer two is an optional SHIELD III+ or SHIELD IV hard plate that drops into the height-adjustable plate pocket. Start with the base. Add hard armor when you need it.
SHIELD IIIA
Soft Armor
The armor that stays in the bag, every day. A full-coverage aramid panel sized to the CARGO back panel, inserted into its own dedicated compartment. Lightweight, flexible, always in place. The foundation every CARGO build starts with.

- Tested to NIJ Level IIIA standards for handgun threat protection

Choose Your
Hard Plate
Already running SHIELD IIIA? Add a hard plate for rifle-rated protection. The CARGO’s height-adjustable plate pocket accepts either level. Choose the one that matches your environment.
III+
SHIELD III+
Rifle-rated protection in a lighter-weight package. Handles intermediate rifle threats including 5.56 NATO and 7.62x39mm. The right choice for daily carry and most threat environments.
IV
SHIELD IV
Maximum protection tier. Rated for armor-piercing rifle threats including .30-06 M2 AP. Heavier, but built for environments where nothing less than SHIELD IV will do.
Built Into
the CARGO System
The CARGO was designed around SHIELD, not the other way around. The SHIELD IIIA panel lives in its own dedicated compartment across the full back surface. The hard plate sits in a separate height-adjustable pocket in front of it. Both layers integrate without taking up cargo space.
